What a summer it has been! While Abby and I were able to have some down time to relax, we also did lots and lots of fun stuff to make our summer break entertaining and enjoyable. Summer break began for us after our move to a new house during the 1st week of July. Of course I had to move during one of the hottest weeks of the year! I was so lucky to have help from friends and family and in just a couple of weeks I was able to turn our house into a home. Abby loves her new room, Selby loves her big back yard, and I love that my commute is still nice and short.
Abby took swim classes again this summer and enjoyed it so much! With all the warm weather, she was able to practice her new swim techniques at the neighborhood pool on a regular basis.
Abby also got her first exposure to soccer lessons and while she might be part fish, I don’t think she will be playing in the world cup any time soon ;). I regularly have to remind her to use her feet when kicking the ball. This often results in her throwing the ball away from the group lesson.
We had plenty of visits up to Portland to see friends and family, and Abby even got to enjoy some special Nanny time while I escaped to the beach for a girls’ weekend! Abby absolutely adores her Nana and asks for her every day.
Unfortunately, summer is over and it is back to work for me and daycare for Abby L At least we have one more fun trip to the beach to look forward to. Stay tuned for a blog post about Abby’s first trip to the beach in over a year!
