Four months old

A couple of weeks ago, Abby turned four months old! I know I say this every month but time is really flying by! Matt even said it the other day when I mentioned Abby was teething. He couldn’t believe it was time for her to be teething already.

This past month, Abby has had her second round of shots 🙁 But being the trooper she is, she only fussed for a little bit and was fine the rest of the day. I took the day off in anticipation of her not feeling good and she was fine! Oh well, it was an extra day with my girl. At the check up, Abby had almost doubled her birth weight and was 23 3/4 inches long! That is a big jump from 19 1/2 at birth.

She is now rolling over from her tummy to her back regularly and is almost rolling to from her back to her tummy. So far she can make it to her side but isn’t quite sure what happens after that. She is also consistently grabbing onto toys that hang in front of her while she plays. The only problem is that she hasn’t quite figured out how to let go of them. This usually results in some shrill shrieking followed by Matt or I helping her to let go of the object she is holding. As always, we are rewarded with a smile 🙂

Abby had her first adventure swimming as you saw in our last blog. I’m excited to enroll her in swim lessons in a couple of months.

Much like her mommy, Abby is definitely a “talker”. She loves to babble and has started blowing raspberries at us. The best is when we blow them back. She always looks so surprised that we can do that too!

Abby loves spending time with her babysitters Sarah and Nana when her mama is at work. Knowing she is having fun makes being away from her a little easier. When she is with Sarah, she gets to play with Sarah’s daughter Maddie. I’m sure they will be best friends getting into trouble together in just a few years.

And just like that, we are onto another month of development. Of course my little one isn’t worried about how fast time is flying. She is one laid back baby!

Abby looks like a baby doll sitting next to Maddie!

Maddie treats her like a babydoll too! She really wants to pick up Abby and carry her around. Thank goodness Sarah is there!
