Also known as child/hubby-free weekend or a throwback to our college days 😉
This past weekend I went on a Girls’ trip with my two best friends, Alexis and Sarah. We’ve known each other for 12 years! They were bridesmaids at my wedding and we were all in the same sorority together at Pacific.
Sarah now lives in Vancouver with her husband and two kids, while Alexis is currently in California with her husband, who is attending grad school to become a physical therapist. Needless to say, we don’t get to see each other much. A trip away to catch up and take time for ourselves was sorely needed.
Southern Oregon was the middle ground between Alexis and Sarah, so that is where we chose to stay. We decided on the hip town of Klamath Falls thanks in part to Sarah’s accommodations hook up (nothing like a nice condo for a discount!).
We spent pretty much the whole trip talking (duh!). We also enjoyed reminiscing with some drinking games and hijinks such as attempting to crash a wedding (the wedding ended before we got there). After some ice tea, Long Island style, we may or may not have thought it was a good idea to call some friends in the Midwest and on the east coast, despite a very late hour (Sorry Kristina and Amanda!).
We also took some time to be grown ups and enjoy the scenery around us. We drove to Crater Lake which was absolutely beautiful.
This photo was taken in the classiest karaoke bar in town.
Maybe for our next trip we will invite the husbands and kids…maybe not 😉
