It’s a girl!

Well today was suppose to be my due-date, but our beautiful daughter chose to arrive 10 days early. Abigail Rose was born on March 7th at 6:33 PM weighing 6lbs 1oz and measuring 19 1/2 inches long. We wanted our child to have a strong name. Abigail means father’s joy, which she most certainly is. And Rose is the name of Abby’s great-grandma whom Matt was particulalry close to.

I labored for a total of 36 hours and although it was the most difficult thing I have ever done, it was also the best. Nothing compares to being a mom to my wonderful daughter. Right away we saw that she had her mommy’s nose and her daddy’s hands. It will be so exciting to see how her personality develops as she grows and changes. Now that we have been home a week we are establishing a feeding and sleeping routine, and I’m pretty confident that I have the easiest baby in the world 🙂

Since we didn’t know what we were having, we stocked up on a lot of gender neutral clothes, but I have already made up for that by going to Target twice since Abby was born. There will be a lot of pink and purple in our house for the next few years!

I still had a few more blogs planned in regards to Abby’s nursery which I plan on posting in the future. For now Matt and I are going to sit back and enjoy our little miracle.
